Exciting News!!!
Our new Chairman of 33@SP, Zest (Jun Hong) has changed his email add. He also brings good news for all SPSE members!!!

There is a mentoring program available that allows you to attach with an entrepreneur to learn from him or her ropes of setting up a business. During the fortnightly 33@SP bazaar, one person will be attached with the same entrepreneur for at least 4 times to learn from him the in and outs of setting up a business.

This 33@SP bazaar is held fortnightly (to be weekly soon!) at FC5. Held every alternate Wednesday, this program give a chance for students to learn from real time entrepreneurs,how to sell a product effectively learn how they procure their products at a cheap rate , and giving YOU a chance to network with these like minded entrepreneurs as well.

Surely it is a lifetime opportunity that many of our members wanted. However, we regret to say that we ONLY have very limited places for a chance to attach with the entrepreneurs. So who will be the ones that attach with these people? Hurry, fill the application now!

For this coming bazaar: Please sms your name, admin no and email address to 9172-2307 by 4/11 Friday if you want to participate for the bazaar on 9/11 (wed). There will be a briefing on the 7/11 at the Clubhouse who those who have registered.

Dr Tan's Tips For Budding Entrepreneurs
This is quoted from the magazine Choices for life, Septmeber 2005 edition. Dr Tan Sze Wee is an entrepreneur as well as nominated Member of Parliament.

Here are his tips for people who aspire to be entrepreneurs:
  1. Spend some time in the industry to learn the ropes first, before striking out on your own
  2. Prior knowledge about your product gives you the dge in the first phase; if not, you have to pay a lot of tuition fees
  3. Starting out in your 30s is better than in your 20s, because maturity counts
  4. In the beginning, everyone makes mistakes. It's about how fast you recover and whether people can trust you again
  5. Be honest. Take advantage of others and the word will get around
  6. It's not a bad idea to have a mid-carrer change, but you must have the passion for this new career

Note: Somehow, this will be very informal.

please note: for the first time, all exco members are present !!!! hahaha ..

We had our first ever Annual General Meeting, with Ashton introducing the exco members to our new members. The following will be the roles of the various exco members and the events they will be hosting.
1. Antony - Welfare Head
All events including barbeques, chalets, birthday celebrations will be his job, if it's your birthday, and you want to celebrate it with the club, please contact Antony.

2. Ashton - President
Everything and anything also can find him.
3. Donna - Secretary
Minutes of meetings, and other matters .. So anything and everything also can find me.
4. Eileen - IT Head
The person who is supposed to maintain this blog and hopefully if we have a website, she will help us start it too. For all links to your businesses, or anything to do with SPSE which you find useful that you wish to put in this blog, please request via the tagboard or the forum. Eileen will get to do it, once it is being approved.
5. Firdaus - Project Coordinator
For coordinating your projects, please find him, however, he is currently busy these next few weeks/months??
6. Hong Ping - NYAA Coordinator
For helping us plan activities for us to obtain a gold award for the National Youth Achievement Award.
7. Ivan - Vice President
Anything and everything else can find him. Currently looking for: participants and committee members for his interpolytechnic competition.
8. Jason - Student Advisor
55@ SP Talks.
9. Jie Ying - Sales Coordinator
Currently in charge of 33@SP Marketplace. Needs helpers. (For more information, please refer to the left column or the yahoo groups, once the link is up.)
10. Jimmy - Recreational Coordinator
For sports, find him. Currently looking out for fit members to join Poly50 with him.
11. Jun Hong - Training and Development Head
He is currently devicing a character analysis game and will be having various board games organised soon.
12. Lay Peng - Membership Secretary
For ensuring the contacts of all members. So, if you have a change of hp number or email or you have friends who want to join the club, please email: explodreamer@gmail.com.
13. Samuel - Publicity
If there are any talks or events going around, it will be put here in the blog by him.
14. Shao Wen - Public Relations
Currently busy planning for a Christmas Bazaar. He is urgently looking for a 2 m tall Christmas tree for rent. Fun awaits us from 19-23 Dec then !
15. Wenney - Treasurer
Not that you can take money off her, but if you have activities you wish to plan, you may find her and ask her how to claim money.
